Amazing artificial leaf that produces Oxygen, a new breakthrough in nature imitation. Julian Melchiorri, a graduate of the Royal College of Art (London), have developed a silk leaf that could create oxygen. It could also helpful for space travel as well as make the air nicer here on Earth.
Artificial leaf was developed in conjunction with a silk lab from Tuff Universty, the leaf is created from matrix of protein. protein extracted from silk and chloroplasts.

As Julian Melchiorri explain in his video, it's light, low energy consuming and completely biological.
Julian's idea of lighting in the leaf, using the light to illuminate the house as well as create oxygen for us.
Julian dreams for Silk Leaf are out of this world. This material could allow us to explore space he says. The Leaf could be used inside ventilation systems of building in order to generate fresh oxygen.
